| Already wound up |
I’ll let you in on a little secret: They haven’t closed the
Bethel complex in Puerto Rico! We were able to visit today and have lunch.
There isn’t much to see, but we got a little tour
with Jean and Ben, about the construction committees and how they are
organized. They are very proactive with maintaining the buildings around the
world.
Genesis volunteered here each week before she moved to Pittsburgh, so lots of people were happy to see her again. She helped in the lawn and garden maintenance, and we complimented her on the beautiful plants we assumed she planted years ago.
The traffic is congested around that area, it didn’t make
sense to go too far, so we got some delicious coffee at Toca Madera (and
wifi!), and chilled for the rest of the afternoon. Some churrasco for dinner,
and then we found the local Kingdom Hall that has an English language meeting
tonight. It was fun! The Kingdom Hall was actually 3-in-1, and they have 9
congregations using that building. Sorry, I was so busy chatting with people I
didn’t take any pictures. The friends were from all over, one couple was from
South Africa, and said they were there when I was with my family at the
International Convention. ::starts singing It's a Small World::
We did see plenty of little lizards zipping around, they are everywhere and so fast! Last night Casie caught one in a door, it didn't turn out well. Widespread panic. But we found out tonight from some other friends of Genesis (that we got fro-yo with! [yes all we do is eat!]) that iguana will climb the trees, and jump around in them and lose their grip and fall out, making a huge ruckus and thud. Which, is funny and at the same time creepy because I realized that's the noise I've been hearing from the window at night, it's iguana crashing out of the mango tree! eek
