And welcome to the blog Genesis! How is your trip so far?
G - It's great, I love it!
Good, good. Don't get too comfortable ladies, I've got a list of hard-hitting questions to launch at you! Let's get down to "the nitty gritty"... On a scale of HOMEWORK to NEW PUPPY, how excited are you to be going to Puerto Rico?
C - New kitten
Whoa, I'd be out of control! How about you, Genesis? From 1 to 10?
G - 11!
Nice, off the chart! Along with excitement comes a level of anxiety about traveling. This is a two-part question: Casie what has caused you the most anxiety about a) this trip?
C - Not knowing as much Spanish as I would like to.
But you did so well in Bolivia! I just read a short story all about it, ask Emma.
G - I read that too, it was good!
C - Yea, that's how I know I need more practice! What was the second part of the question?
What has caused you the most anxiety about b) being short?
C - ::ponders:: I have to sit really close to the steering wheel when I'm driving, that gives me anxiety at times.
Yikes. So Casie, since you like the two-part questions, I've included two of them. Has anyone given you some good advice for a) this trip? b) for life?
C - Yea, to enjoy myself because these are memories that I will look back on and cherish for a lifetime. And wear bug spray! But also life goes by quickly, and there is so much I can do to pursue spiritual goals. While I'm young I need to stay busy and make memories!
G - That's nice!
C - Gracias!
Trust me on the sunscreen. Ok, Genesis! Let's hear from you: You've been back home now for about a week, what were some things you missed? Like food?!
G - Churrasco, especially my mom's! And plantains, and my grandma's soup. And the drink Malta, because is hard to find in Pittsburgh, but not impossible.
Mmm, I want to try some! Can we fit that into the itinerary? Speaking of the itinerary, who would like to tell us which day will be their favorite, and why?
G - When we go to Culebra, is awesome! I don't get to be there often! It's going to be my second time. We need to wake up at 4am to get there on time for the "boat" but it's worth it.
C - It all sounds so exciting, but the jungle exploring day is the one I'm really looking forward to. I've always wanted to visit a jungle.
You better pack your machete. Obviously, it's not a proper visit to Puerto Rico without going to the beach. Genesis what is your favorite thing about la playa?
G - Going swimming, play sports at the beach, just relaxing.
Casie this will be your first visit to Puerto Rico. Describe your conversation with the beach, the first time you're introduced.
C - Me: "OH MAH GOSH I've heard SO MUCH about you! I can't believe I'm FINALLY meeting you!! Your water is so much more blue in person, and that sand!" Then, ungracefully I jump into a wave. Beach: "Whoa, calm down woman."
Let's hope, I'm there to see that. We're almost done, you're doing great! Casie you've probably been practicing Spanish, what phrases are you prepared to use?
C - Hablo un poco Español. No caiga, Keri.
G - Don't say "No hablo inglés" again!

C - I would like to ask YOU a question: In less than a year we have gone on four trips together. What do you think makes us such good traveling companions?
Oooh! Out of nowhere she reversed the interview! Hmm, really, four trips? Hey wait, that's more than 20 --
C - I wasn't done! Also I'd like to add WOOHOOOOO! Yea that's way over my limit.
G - Woohooooo!!
Well I think we travel so well together because my favorite color is yellow, and you have blue eyes, and those colors together make green. Plants are green, and plants are everywhere, therefore we are everywhere.
